Wanted to remove and replace concrete sidewalk along house, approximately 170 square feet. I already had some panels removed to verify that the tree roots were causing uplifting and cracking of the slabs. I have a lot of concrete around my house, no rebars in it or cracks, only this portion along house was uplifted and cracked due to olieander roots. We removed nearby trees and olianders.Set a meeting with company's representative, he measured everything and then gave me a sales pitch how good is his company providing backup papers (license, insurance, bbb rating, etc.) We agreed upon the estimate, start and completion date and the exact scope of work. I stressed out that I do not want reinforcement in my sidewalk. He wrote it down in the contract. Next day, the company's representative called trying to persuade me to put the rebars in the sidewalk, their motto was "we want to do a good job". I asked them a few questions about the concrete, like does the cities put concrete in the sidewalk-she avoided a direct answer, canceled my contract and hang up on me saying If you do not want rebars we will not do job for you. She acted very unprofessionally and in rude way and could not answer my question about the concrete. BTY I am dealing with the contractors and concrete for more than 10 years and know quite a lot about this material. A few days later the company returned my deposit check with a note "They are sorry that I canceled the project. So they tried to use hard pressure sale to sell you more of their business and then they blame you for cancelling the project if it does not work out the way they planned it. Cannot believe them.
