Review 6/15/2008
We had Silverstar remodel the kitchen, remove the popcorn from the ceilings, paint the entire house, put in baseboards in the entire house, put in crown moulding, install interior doors, install an exterior door, install a mirror sliding door, install hardwood flooring and tile flooring.

They began by demolition of the kitchen. Then they started to remove the popcorn. In removal of the popcorn and repainting the ceiling they got paint all over our brand new wooden banister, as well as, other furniture. I spent many many many hours staining the bannister and puttting many coats of an acrylic protectorant, as well as painting the balusters with several coats of primer and then paint. Needless to say I am not pleased with the result due to their lack of precaution.

Regarding the kitchen, they made cabinets that did not meet our design so they had to remake them. We still have one cabinet that was made smaller than the design. After this was discovered we were asked, "Can you live with it?" The cabinets were not hung properly so they had to fix that. Then they put in the backsplash without measuring the microwave that was to go on top of the backspash. They missed that by a half inch. They had to adjust the cabinet above the microwave by removing the bottom piece of the cabinet to make up for the half inch. The diswasher was not installed properly, so after running it, the water came out of the air release at the top of the sink and all over the brand new wood floor. There were quite a few other mistakes made in the kitchen. I could go on further in this regard.

The ceiling was left wavy after the popcorn was removed. They didn't even paint the ceiling in the kitchen. In many different areas they either only painted a primer coat or painted one coat of paint. They would not fix any flat areas on the walls with a little sanding and texture unless we complained. We had to have them back many many times to complete the painting correctly.

They hung the interior doors upside down. They had to go out and buy new ones. Then they lost one of the doors that they hung and had to purchase a 3rd door, rehang it, etc.

The original project manager, Adam Tiv, was asked by us not to continue being involved in the project. We then asked Roi to get involved. Roi did make sure that we were pleased and made the job move forward.

Overall, I'm pleased with the result. It was hell getting there however. Quality and Silverstar do not go hand in hand. If you don't complain (I have many many lists of items that needed to be fixed) then you will be left with a shotty job. You will have to play project manager or you will be left with "whatever state of the job". Even now, after we have completed the project, I see things that were not done correctly. I have no desire to have them back to fix it, as each and everytime I've had them back to fix things, they had messed something else up.
