I signed up online (from the Fandango site) for the "free" trial size kit. I understood that all I had to pay was the $4.99 shipping fee. I provided my debit card # and on 9/29/11 $4.99 was debited from my account. On 10/10/11 I received my trial size kit but was not happy with the makeup. So on 10/16/11 I contacted Sheer Cover customer service. I wanted to make sure that I wouldn't be charges a monthly subscription fee and certainly didn't want anymore of their product. Well, I was advised by the customer service representative that I would be charged $29.99 a month for 3 months and that my 3 month supply was in the mail! I asked that they cancel this order and was adamant that I didn't authorize any transaction other than the $4.99 S&H fee. But he simply stated that they wouldn't be able to cancel the order since it had already shipped. The very next day I was charged $37.94 ($29395 plus shipping).
I received the 3 month supply approximately a week and a half later and the day after I received the shipment I returned it. In fact, I paid extra for the expedited shipping to ensure it would be received in two business days. On October 28th I confirmed (via the tracking # provided by USPS) that the item had arrived at the return address is Des Monies, IA.
I called Customer Service a few days later and the automated system told me that no return had been received and when I spoke with another customer service representative he asked if I was some lady named "Pam". Apparently, when I enter my information (phone #, zip code, street #) it coincides with another customer. He told me that it would take 4-6 weeks for them to receive the return package and my refund would be issued than. I explained that the return package had already been received per the USPS tracking #. He was unable to track the return and again advised that I would have to wait an additional 4-6 weeks.
The icing on the cake was when I was charged another $29.95 monthly charge on 11/14/11. I called the company again and was told that I would have to wait 4-6 weeks. Today I was so frustrated by the whole process that I called them again and was advised they would send me an affidavit to get my refund processed...But it would take 2 weeks to get it. Go figure. I'll probably never get my refund and will probably be charged another $29.95 fee in December. I've told every customer service representative how dissatisfying this entire process has been and I would NEVER deal with Sheer Cover or Guthy Renker and would tell everyone about how horrible the experience has been.
