THEY ARE RIP OFFS! They OVERCHARGE for labor!

I have gone to this shop a few times in my past to take care of some big jobs. First the transmission on my van. The job was done fine. But it was upsetting that they charged tax on the labor. For the entire bill, not the parts only. Whats up with that? Another time I needed a couple sensors on the transmission. They charged me $150 labor to replace 2 sensors. TOO MUCH, takes only 1 hour max.

Just recently (1-2011) I needed to take my van to check a "No start" condition. But BEFORE I did this. With my mechanic experiences. I KNEW it was the ECM. And used my OWN OBD2 scanner to check it. I HAVE TOLD THIS SHOP ABOUT MY "AT HOME" DIAGNOSE. So for that case, it will be an "easy" job for this shop. Or SHOULD BE anyway. I knew what the problem was, BUT I just wanted to get a good "professional" check and get a good second opinion and advice before I buy the ECM. And I chose THIS shop. I had ONLY asked to check whats making my van not start. Also, I asked the shop for a tow. He said $45. OK I say.

At the end I get a bill of $300 (3 1/2 hours diagnose, 1 hour to put ECM on). Ray claims that they spent all day looking at my van (not putting on the part, just looking at it). And says the used the spark tester ($10 tool), and checked for fuel. THAT'S IT. So $300 to do this??? BS. $300 to check what making it not start. (Takes only a 1/2 to 1 hour max to check that). I was thinking the $45 towing was included in the bill. ($300 STILL high even with the $45 tow) So I asked about that, only for him to say Thank you! I forgot to ADD this! OK now, sir the bill is $350. Thanks for reminding me! OVERCHARGING ME AS IT IS for the labor $300. Ray should've had some RESONABLE consideration to let the $45 go for free, SINCE I had the courtesy to remind him. COME ON now!(tow service guy is a part of this shop) And NOT ONLY THAT, He ups the tow fee to $50. (I thought we shooked hands at $45) WITH this LACK of consideration, that got me SO MAD! I was REALLY UPSET OF HIM. I was FLAMING! And this is WHY this review is here. This was enough for me to decide, I GOT TO GO TO B.A.R. He is NOT gonna get away with this. I would NOT have filed a complaint or got upset with Ray if he WOULD have had resonable CONSIDERATION of letting that ounce of expense go after charging all that $300.

The 2 stars are for the OK quality of work they done for my van. His LACK of consideration and OVERCHARGING labor takes away lots of points here!
