BEWARE OF ORANGE COUNTY DIESEL!!!
BEWARE OF ORANGE COUNTY DIESEL!!! I would not recommend Orange County Diesel for any work and advise against conducting business with Noe Roman, the owner of Orange County Diesel. Here is why: On July 6, 2012, I had a Transfer Flow tank/tool box installed on a new 2012 F-450. The installation of the tank is okay, though the fuel gauge goes to empty for a while whenever we fill the factory tank or the two tanks. However, I was very upset about a gouge Orange County Diesel employees put in the paint on the driver's door. I had washed the truck the night before having the tank installed and I know for certain there was no damage to the door when I left the truck with Orange County Diesel for the tank install. When the truck was left at the shop, it was backed into the shop bay and the front doors were right in a location where the doors would open against the concrete wall of the bay opening if opened too far. When I picked the truck up, it had been backed further into the bay, but it was too late and the damage had been done. So, I left the truck at Orange County Diesel with no damage, then drove it to my home, with no stops in-between where anything would have happened. However, when I got home we immediately noticed a major scratch on the driver’s side front door. I would never have expected to have to inspect for body damage to the driver's side door from having a fuel tank/tool box installed in the bed of the truck! I looked over the tank install before leaving and was happy with it, but the door?? Without a doubt, the door was opened against the concrete of Orange County’s entry door to their work bay and that was when the paint was damaged. Had this been an older truck with other blemishes I wouldn't have thought much of it, but this truck had only a little over 3k miles on it. I could have installed the thank myself, but decided to pay the nearly $400 to have a professional installation done so that I would not have issues......... should have done it myself, or at least read the other review and Bette Business Bureau complaints on Orange County Diesel and gone elsewhere. It cost nearly $250 to have this damage repaired. I e-mailed Noe Roman about this issue twice before getting a response, and here is what he had to say: “I am very sorry to hear about your issue. I was not here when your vehicle was in for service nor was I here when you took delivery of your vehicle after service, however I am aware of two important facts regarding this matter: 1) You had bikes in and out of your truck, twice. Once when you arrived to the shop, then again when you departed from the shop. 2) You acknowledged that you thoroughly inspected your vehicle prior to taking delivery. I do not feel that any employee here is responsible for the scratch you’ve identified on your vehicle. Furthermore, my technicians are not only very careful and honest, they seldom make mistakes, and if they do, they report them immediately. We employ a zero tolerance for dishonesty at OC DIESEL and if there is an unwanted occurrence that takes place, especially dishonesty about an occurrence with a customer’s vehicle the consequential matter results in a dismissal of employment.” That was it. That was the last I ever heard from Noe on this issue!! Now folks, I don’t know if you have ever loaded or unloaded a bicycle from the bed of a pickup truck, but I can tell you it is done from the tailgate, not through the window of the driver’s side door. Again, I would never have expected to have to inspect for body damage to the driver's side door from having a fuel tank/tool box installed in the bed of the truck! I looked over the tank install before leaving and was happy with it, but the door?? Again, BEWARE OF ORANGE COUNTY DIESEL!! The bicycle Noe Roman references were never near the door. I know this because I loaded and unloaded both of them myself. I could provide more details on this and how the bikes passed the truck on their way out and on their way back in, but suffice it to say, they were unloaded and loaded at the tailgate and never came close to the driver’s side door. At the end of it all Noe Roman totally shrugged any responsibility and did not stand behind his shop’s work. End result: Orange County Diesel installation fee of $400 + $250 repair bill for the scratch Orange County Diesel put in our truck = a cost of having Orange County Diesel doing the tank installation equaling $650, or an added cost of over 60% for the installation. They clearly are lackadaisical about their customer’s vehicles and do not deserve the business. Still not sure? Check other reviews and check with the Better Business Bureau, then SAY NO TO NOE!
