Albania Adoption Fail/Matched incorrectly

What a terrible experience from beginning to end with Nightlight Christian Adoptions. From the beginning the focus of the adoption was all about what papers needed to be filed, mostly filled out by us with no help. We were going to adopt from Albania. We received a file from them with minimal information on the child. We were asked to make a decision within 2 weeks however we asked for more time being that we were having her medical file reviewed by the leading adoption doctor. We had just received her diagnoses and wanted more time to think about it, 24 hours is what we had asked for. We kindly asked for more time. The answer was no. We went forward in faith (with little information and one picture of the child) and decided to adopt. From then on, we payed invoice after invoice, which is mostly about the only time we would hear from them. We asked for more pictures and perhaps a video of the child and they always said "one picture is what the country provides", "we will be lucky to get more than one". They did receive another picture of her but they made us so paranoid to ask for more information about the child. Fast forward about 9 months later, we went to meet the child. It is heart breaking that her medical file did not match up to what they said. She has several medical issues, including a brain/genetic disorder. We could not move forward with the adoption. It was heart breaking that we were matched incorrectly. We were also extorted while there. Their so called "facilitator" did not help much and was very inexperienced. We contacted Daniel Nehrbass (President of Nightlight) and his response was so shallow, such a lack of empathy. If I could have recorded this. It is so sad that this company is not in it for the sake of the children, but more for the sake of profiting or having titles. PLEASE DO NOT USE NIGHTLIGHT!
