Review 2/19/2011
During the entire negotiating process this company was dishonest. The truck we were interested in was advertised as a full power vehicle when, in fact, everything is manual (windows, seats, etc.) It was advertised as the more expensive model in that series of trucks on Craigslist. KBB paperwork submitted to the bank that they asked to finance it with (without our permission) was submitted with $1,075 in extras that were not on the vehicle (bank provided us a copy of paperwork (BTW - this bank will not do business with them anymore). Never did we talk price when we first went to see the truck; dealer assumed we were going to pay full price. When we did sit down to talk price and told them that the truck was improperly advertised and what the TMV was, they became angry and hostile. We told them our bottom line offer for the proper model which included tax, license, and registration. We walked away without making a deal. The so-called owner, Tim, (we never did find out who the real owner is) called a few days later and wanted to talk. We agreed on $13,500 out the door with tax, license and registration included. Several weeks later, a message was left on our voice mail that we owed them $280.75 for registration and needed to come pick up the plates. I spoke to the woman in the office who was the driving force in making this negotiation the worst we've ever experienced. After much discussion, she hung up on me. There is nothing professional about her or this business; she's rude, obnoxious, and downright dishonest, and to top it all, her salespeople are unable to communicate in English. If our son hadn't wanted this truck so badly, we would have never walked back into this place...they are extremely shady and unprofessional. They didn't realize that we are not stupid people and would fight them to the end because of our treatment during this negotiation process. There are two good things that we can say about them, though. They did paint the bumper on the rear of the truck which was not the original bumper and was rusting, and they do have nice vehicles on their lot. If you have to deal with them because you absolutely have to have a certain vehicle on their lot, then, Buyer Beware! Do your homework. The KBB worksheet they show you is done in-house and made to look as if they printed it off of a reliable website; however, we found that it changed each time we pointed out a mistake, including the model of the truck we were negotiating on. They would not even provide us with a CarFax. They printed some information from a Google website we'd never heard of. Be sure you check the KBB online and get the True Market Value (TMV). We never tried to stiff them because every dealership and salesperson needs to make a profit; but these guys will try to make an extreme profit on you. Our resolution: we filed complaints with the BBB and a consumer's complaint with the State. Once they received the complaint from the BBB, they called angrily and told us to come pick up the plates and we didn't have to pay for them. And then proceeded to tell us what a great deal we got and how they lost money on this transaction. We found out through records provided to the bank that they purchased this vehicle at auction for $8,800, so for them to say they lost money, was a downright lie. Take extreme caution working with them, if you must.
