In my opinion, this is one company you do not want to have anything to do with. We're still tracking down who owns what but it seems there is/was an association with Remodeling Design & Management, Inc. in Valencia, CA. If you have to do business with them, get EVERTHING ON PAPER or better yet video tape everything they promise you. They have a knack of fabricating incredible stories. We have filed a complaint against them with the appropriate California licensing board and will like pursuit further actions against them to correct the deficiencies of their work. Save yourselves a lot of hassel and disappointment. We wanted our kitchen remodeled and tiles installed. In addition, we wanted to relocate the central air/heating system up to the roof so we can use the space as a pantry. First, the cabinet showed up late and we never saw the design of it until it was installed. The cabinet over the stove, with the hood on, was 18" from the stove itself. They told me it was by code (right). That's 18" of clearance from the top of the stove to the bottom of the hood. If you stick an 8qt pot in the back burner you might be able to put the lid on if you get down on your knees. Here's another hilarious "reason" they used. We wanted GFI outlets underneath the cabinets because we didn't want them on the beautiful backsplash tiles. They bought these cheap surge protectors, cut off the plugs and attached it behind the back of the cabinets. No GFI outlets and the junction boxes were burried behind the titles (inaccessible). They then claimed that I wanted those surge protectors there (in the kitchen) because "Tom is such a handyman and he wanted to plug in all my tools in the kitchen." Picture me plugging in my 2 circular 12" saws, my 3hp router, my drill press, my table saw in my wife brand new kitchen. Nevermind that (A) a surge protector was designed to protect delicate electronics from devices such as my tools and (B) no idiotic handyman would plug their high amperage tools into a surge protector and (C) my wife will skin me alive if I bring my tools into the house let alone her kitchen. Bottom line is, we've brought in other contractors to examine his handiwork and discovered that it will cost a lot of money to correct. So, do yourselves a favor, stay as far away from these folks as you can. Remember the central heat/air unit on top? That's another horror story and the roof leaks. ARGH!
