I just had a run in with Michelle. first let me give you the back ground story
I had my dealership broken into on april 3rd 2010 thieves stole 3 cars Lapd was called at the time of the incident 2 am in the morning they did not show up mind you i'm 3 blocks away(long story with LAPD complain later) so one of the cars was recovered by the sheriff department so i went the second day i got the release from them and they sent me to kruger to pick it up it was 4:40 pm they close at 5 so i told michelle i'm going to sent my tow truck the nextday (saturday) they open 2 hours only. so i sent him he was their at 8 am she refused to release it even though on the release form it says they should but could not if they want to. so i went their monday with the money DL police release to recover my stolen car. she refused to release it to me stating that i need to get a repossession company to repo the car. i tried to explain that the car was stolen and it was never sold to be repo'ed so basically i got mad and told her you are trying to make money and how can i repo a car that has been stolen from me and who should i repo it from? the thief who i do not know? the sheriff department who recovered it? or the impound who has it? so finally she was convinced that i do not have to repo it then she asked me for a hold harmless letter which in short states that i will hold them harmless of any lawsuits and i asked to see the car before i sign such paper and she said i can only view the car after i give her the release. as stated in the police report the car is not damaged or stripped so what if i see missing stuff like radio or parts? i can not sue them after. and when i asked to speak to a supervisor she said she is the one. so now i have a stolen recovered car that i can not get out and the impound fees are mounting everyday so if i leave it there they will send me the storage bill anyway at the same time i can not pick it up unless i sign a waiver or a hold harmless releasing their liability. i called the LASD and asked them how can i file a complaint since they have a contract with them and they said most likely i can not file a complaint against them i need to sue. now how can i sue if i sign a release and they can always claim that they never told me they needed all the extra paper work. on top of that they can counter sue for storage the car has been there for 5 days when it should've been there for 2 only and now i have to try somehow to pick it up tomorrow so that makes it 6 days and counting. i dunno what to do trying to cut my losses here the thieves ended up driving my car and now i have to pay for at least extra days so about 400 dollars so far to recover a stolen car. i guess crocks always win why am i not one?
