Submitted: Monday, June 07, 2010 Posted: Monday, June 07, 2010 I signed up w/ Merchant Warehouse to process credit card transactions. They sold me a machine and then programmed it.
The machine seemed to work fine on my end. I got reports saying that the transactions were accepted. But they failed to complete the transactions. The payments went through as "ghost" transactions I'm told. I.e., the payments were pending but didn't complete.
A year later my machine wouldn't work. I was told to call techincal support. Come to find out they had erroneously closed my account w/o telling me. I waited a week for them to fix that. Still the machine wouldn't work so I called technical support again & then all of those old ghost transactions went through.
I have hundreds of customers who were unaware that these transactions didn't happen and would now be surprised. I had to send out apology letters & notify them of what happened.
I was supposed to have $6500 deposited into my account. It has been 5 weeks. Each week I call asking where are my funds & I'm told that it has been sent to another department. That department then assures me that I'll have my funds in "3-5 days". Over & over I have been told that the funds were coming. I got a hold of a supervisor who promised me that I should have those funds, "next week". They have not.
Merchant Warehouse is still attempting to withdraw funds from my bank account but they are not giving me the deposit. My customers were charged for the transactions. Merchant Warehouse has the funds. They are holding it now for possible chargebacks.
Merchant warehouse charged me the fees for the ghost transactions. Then they are charging me again, to process the cards. Now they are keeping my money, charging me again to return the funds.
