I need to get information on status of my debt program
|
10/1/2010 1:02 PM (PST)
I received a call recently from Apex Financial Services in California stating they were immediately closing their doors. I was in this to help pay off some debts. Now with them stating the doors are closing I am up in the air about the program I was involved in. I am trying to contact someone from the company, but now when the number is dialed all you get is a busy signal. Any thoughts or suggestions as to how I can get information on the status of my account? I have been in touch with a separate company which actually holds payments I submit. they have promise a refund of any balance within 10 days, but I still am concern about my account with my debtors through Apex.

Mt,
Apex Financial Services has an F rating with the BBB for failing to provide services after requesting payment to settle debts.
If they are telling you their going out of business, you need likely not recover any of your fees. You should contact file a complaint with the BBB and also contact CA Attorney Generals' office at http://ag.ca.gov/contact.php
If your still in need of services, you may contact a nonprofit credit counselor. Check out www.nfcc.org to be connected to a local accredited agency and also check out their "Debt Settlement Consumer Alert". Their national hotline is 800-388-2227.
