There have been other threads about this company, which you can access by searching for the tag American Residential Law Group on the Ask the Community front page. Your profile does not indicate where you live, but if you don't live in Florida it doesn't make much sense to do business with a company out of state. Also, you should know that a lawyer isn't going to "force" a modification on the lender. What they'll do is prepare an application and submit it to the lender. Note that you didn't speak with a lawyer when you called the firm did you? You were probably speaking to a lay person who may have been working on commission. Doesn't it seem reasonable that if you hire a lawyer, you'd first speak with him or her?

Why pay a lot of money for this service? You'll get exactly the same service from a lawyer that you'll get from dealing with a non-profit HUD approved housing counseling service, so why not go for the option that will give you a free service?

You can get a referal by calling:888-995-4673.

Hi Carmen,

My same response still stands-If you don't live in Florida, it doesn't make much sense to do business with a company out of state. We always suggest that consumers start their loan modification journey by calling a HUD approved housing counselor. You can get a referal by calling:888-995-4673.

Good luck!

I just spoke with a rep from ARLG today and he quoted me $2325.00 for a mod. I told him I couldn't pay that amount. He told me they could work a payment plan for me of 3 "easy payments" of $775.00. He told me that the process would take 90-120 days. Has anyone been quoted as much as me?
